I am going to take you through the journey of How I created Get Your Restaurant!
Many people ask me what made me think of helping others starting their restaurant business… Isn’t it a business secret and never to be revealed by restaurant owners.
Well, it’s a long story that goes back to 2002. I had just finished my Hotel Management and joined My father in our family restaurant business.
Yes, I’m blessed with a Great Family, Cool brothers and an even a cooler extended family…So guess what…We have a lot of things to talk about when we all meet…All revolving around Food!
So spend somewhere around 10 years building up our business, Day in day out. Of course, I have not done this alone, our whole family was involved in the growth process.
We were doing great, expanding at the same time!
But after those 10 years of doing the same things each day, I got monotonous. Success always plateaus if you don’t have the next thing sorted out for you! That’s what happened to me!
Creating a New Restaurant is all exciting, Lots of challenges, Creativity but running it for 10 years is not the same. Some people love to do that, but I didn’t!
It was in the month of Dec 2013 that I came across a guy called Dan Kennedy who was teaching a cool concept called Info Marketing. It meant teaching others what you already know and help them achieve the same result you have achieved.
That idea was strange to me at first, But I couldn’t get it out of my head for a few months. What if this was a way for me to Help others to set up their own restaurant and I could work on the things I am excited about.
So went ahead and formed a company to set up restaurants for our clients. Along-with my friends did set up a few Food businesses and restaurants, Staffed them up and opened for my clients.
But it was not giving me the satisfaction I wanted. To be frank, there was a Lot of Money doing this for my clients, But Money was never the goal here.
I always wanted to help many people to achieve their goals and Setting up Individual projects was simply not helping me achieve it!
In other words, It was not scalable!
Please don’t get me wrong, I don’t do this for free and I sincerely feel charging money for my courses, programs, Ebooks etc makes a person more serious and compels him to take action.
Free Information is not that effective! Nobody takes it seriously!
That’s when Get Your Restaurant was born, In my head. It took me a Few Years to get it out.
So on 20th Feb 2017 came the Youtube Channel where I started posting a Few Videos. To My shock, this Channel has reached 23,000 subscribers in a few years. Not to Brag but One of my videos has been viewed by 3.6 Lakh people.
That’s Huge… I had never thought so many people were interested in.
This pushed me to do more. I wrote an Ebook called ‘Restaurant Secrets’ which is one of my highest selling Products.
I created a Couple of Courses on Setting up a restaurant and those were bought by many people.!
Then followed the “Restaurant Success Trifecta”, The “Restaurant Building Roadmap” and the “Restaurant Feasibility Pyramid” which I will talk about in our coming posts!
So what started as an act of sharing of experience is slowly now growing into a never before In-Depth Resource Centre for all interested in Restaurant as a Business.
A Fun Fact, During this Corona Virus Time just to keep myself engaged into something, I announced a Paid Live Online training on my GetYorRestaurant Youtube Channel and to my surprise 20 odd people signed up! Say What!
So I relentlessly taught these 20 people for consecutive 13 days back to back, Dissecting each and every step in detail and then answering all their questions.
The Training if you add up is more than 20 Hours Long! They were blown away by the content and together We all had a blast!
Using the Digital platform I am able to help them get a better understanding of this business. I got cool reviews from them, I will post them here in the future!
The 20 odd years I spent on my business as well as others has helped me Get Clarity, A Deeper Understanding of how things work (And What Doesn’t) and how anybody can achieve it by following steps.
In no way am I saying it’s easy to start a restaurant business or simple but by following steps and understanding the business it’s achievable.
Just to let you know, I’m not bragging about this, Just happy that finally, I have found something that is exciting and helps me contribute to society!
I am working on the next Volume of ‘Restaurant Secrets’ which will blow your mind, along with an Online Training on setting up restaurants.
So The dots always connect even if it doesn’t seem so right now. I am a living example.
